Coverage is how much area one litre paints in one coat, published by each company in its data sheet (for example Berger New SPD: 11–15 m² per litre). Premium paints usually cover more per litre, which is why a costlier paint can sometimes need fewer litres. We calculate with the middle value of each official range.
With a 10 ft ceiling, ceiling included and 2 coats: about 6.7 litres of Berger New SPD plus 3.4 litres of primer — total Rs 6,490 at official shop prices. Other brands differ slightly because their coverage differs — check the comparison table.
Most brands sell the same traditional sizes: Drum ≈ 14.56 or 16 litres, Gallon ≈ 3.64 or 4 litres, Quarter ≈ 0.91 or 1 litre (the exact size depends on the brand). This calculator always uses each product's real pack sizes and real pack prices.
They are the companies' published prices as checked on 1 Nov 2026 (sources above). Shops often give a small discount, and prices are revised from time to time — treat the total as a close estimate and confirm at your shop.
